In May 2025, Cora was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma (DMG), an aggressive form of brain cancer that primarily affects children. Since then, Cora has had two craniotomies along with 40 rounds of radiation. Because there aren’t effective treatments for this disease, she has also taken part in two clinical trials, first in San Francisco and now in Cincinnati. While experimental treatments are helping improve survival times for some children, fewer than 10% of children with DMG survive more than two years after diagnosis.
Despite her diagnosis, Cora approaches life with joy and curiosity. She loves learning new things, telling jokes, and making new friends. She loves being in her school's plays and dreams of being an author/illustrator.
Funding research is so critical because kids like Cora deserve to have a chance to grow up and achieve their dreams. Every donation will go to fund research into treatments for DMG/DIPG so that families in the future have more options and more hope for a cure.
